  • 1. What is a Women’s Shed?

    A Women’s Shed is a safe, supportive, and inclusive space for women of all ages to connect,

    learn new skills, share knowledge, and enjoy companionship. It’s a place to relax, have fun,

    and be part of a community.

  • 2. Who can join the Women’s Shed?

    Any woman aged 18 and over is welcome to join, regardless of background, experience, or

    skill level. We encourage diversity and inclusivity in our shed.

  • 3. Do I need to have any skills or experience?

    Not at all! The Shed is for everyone – whether you’re a beginner or have years of experience

    in crafts, music, gardening, or other activities. We’re all about learning together.

  • 4. What kinds of activities happen at the Shed?

    Activities vary by week but may include:

    - Dancing

    - Arts & crafts

    - Gardening

    - Sewing

    - Yoga

    - Health & wellbeing sessions

    - Guest speakers and workshops

    - Social events (coffee mornings, shared lunches, etc.)

  • 5. When and where does the Shed meet?

    The Shed runs events throughout the week; we generally meet in the evenings between 7 and 9 pm at Castaheany Community Centre.

  • 6. How much does it cost to join?

    We ask for a small annual membership fee of €20 to help cover supplies and running costs.

    Some workshops/day trips may have an additional fee.

  • 7. What should I bring with me?

    Just yourself! If a specific activity needs materials, we’ll let you know in advance.

  • 8. Is the Shed accessible?

    Yes, the building is wheelchair accessible, and we have accessible toilets

  • 9. How can I get involved or volunteer?

    We’re always looking for enthusiastic members, helpers, or guest facilitators! If you have a

    skill to share or want to help out behind the scenes, get in touch with us.

  • 10. Who runs the Women’s Shed?

    The Shed is run by a volunteer board of managemnet with support from local partners and sponsors.

    We are a community-driven initiative built on collaboration and kindness.
